Where I work I’m quite lucky as there is flexi-hours. Which means I can start work any time between 7am and 10am, then finish 7.5 hours later.
Which is quite handy if I either need to do something in the morning or get out of work early.
Also – no homework! When I used to work in academia (university) I would do work at home a lot whereas in industry I don’t have to.
Scientists get paid to ask questions like “Why?” and “How?” and “What happens if…?” And we get to try to answer them. And many of us teach which means we get to tell everyone what we’ve found. It’s like being a police detective but with no crime, just interesting facts to find and a news conference later to tell everyone what we’ve been doing. I’m not sure if that analogy works, but hope it helps!
