Asian elephants can grow up to 2.7 m tall in the biggest males, and weigh up to 5,500 kg. Females are a bit shorter at 2.2 m and much lighter, at 2,700 kg.

African bush elephants are bigger, with males reaching 4 m in height and 6,000 kg in weight. Females are up to 2.7 m tall and weigh up to 3,300 kg.

The smallest species of elephant, the African forest elephant, grows up to a maximum of 2.5 m in height (though they’re often much smaller), and weigh around 1,500 kg.
