• Question: how are you going to find out why they act like they do?

      Well, there are lots of different ways, depending on what animals and what question. One way is just to watch them, and see if we can figure out why. For example, you might ask why robins sing. By watching them, we have found out that when they sing they scare off other robins, so it is probably to keep their garden to themselves!
      Another way would be to run an experiment. So, if you want to know if birds like red or yellow bowls, you could put out food in both and watch to see how many birds go to each bowl.
