A human egg called an Ovum (from the mother) becomes fertilised by a sperm (from the father) to form a zygote. This implants in the mothers uterus/womb to grow into a fetus and then eventually after about 40 weeks the baby is fully grown and ready to be born.

Within 28 days of fertilisation of the egg the heart is formed and beating to transport blood. Amazing organ.
